What diet is best?

Okay, so there are so many diets out there and so many desperate dieters.  Are you one of them?   I was trained in over 100 modalities at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and believe me, I know it gets confusing.  I believe that the best program for you is the one you can stick with.  It’s that easy!  Of course, there are many components to consider as we decide what that program is.  I love working with people to zero in on the best approach for them.  I’m a strong advocate of eating whole foods as close to their natural source as possible.  I try my best to stay away from eating out of boxes, cans, and bags.  That’s where the chemicals come in that hijack our brains and our addiction centers.

Personally, I find I feel best when I stay away from sugar and anything “white”.  I’ve done that for years.  Not only do I feel less inflammation and pain when I eliminate these foods, but the weight stays off much easier.  I was a yo-yo dieter for years until I learned the trick of eating the good stuff and eliminating the processed garb.  So what about when you’re addicted to sugar, go without it for a time, then you just want to snap like a rubber band that is pulled so tight it eventually has to break?  The question begs to be answered.  Is going without sugar truly like an alcoholic staying away from the drink?  Or can a sugar/flour-aholic learn moderation?  I believe they can.  I also believe there is a switch in the brain that one can turn off.  An addiction switch.  When we are told we can’t have something, we sometimes want it more.  I’ve gone years without sugar and when doing so, I’ve realized I don’t have the desire for it.  Yet, knowing I can have it, if I choose to, releases the tight stretch of that rubber band.

My current classes are centered around support for addiction to sugar but also to the “SAD – Standard American Diet” in general.  Recent studies show 50% of Americans are now overweight.  Can we reduce this growing number by eating the foods meant for us?  Can we really break the hold sugar and processed foods have on us?  If you’re interested in this type of support either one on one or in a class setting, contact me here.

We’ll get into learning about the foods that are more nutritious and energizing, but we’ll also answer the big questions.  How do I learn to control my eating and be “normal”?  How do I eat in moderation and stay lean?  My approach is a process.  It involves some inner work and some trust.  I’d love to have you join me as we explore and get you whole.  As we ALL become whole.  What is the trigger switch that we’d so love to turn off?  Let’s find out together.  I want in!
